Grass is Back

Wimbledon, is back, new features include a roof that can close when rain pours down on centre court. Rafael Nadal, the defending champion, has pulled out with an injury, so Fedex will fancy his chances of eclipsing Pistol Pete at SW19. But his task will be cut out. I think Federer's main rival could be Andy Murray, who is aiming to become the first Brit since Fred Perry to win Wimbledon. Another incentive for Andy is that he is sponsored by Fred Perry's brand.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka look to lay their hands on the t20 world cup, as expected, the Proteas went out CHOKING in the semi finals thus living up to the tag of chokers, n the Windies went out without giving a fight despite knockin' out the two teams that I had initially thought would contest the final, Australia and England.

The confederations cup looks to be another trophy for Spain, the way they are playing at the moment is absolutely breathtaking, Italy takes on Brazil in a crunch game on the morrow, lets hope the Azzurri tries to put up a fight.

India's cricket team to the West indies has been announced. It was wonderful to see Ashish Nehra back in the team. A few eyebrows were raised when M Vijay, a test specialist was given the nod. S badrinath and Abhishek Nayyar were always meant to get a look in to the India squad sooner rather than later. Lets hope Badri gets a few games under his belt.

Extemely shocking to see the number of pedigreed IIM pass outs from the class of 2009 to be benched, and their offers deferred to about 6 months. At this rate, India's premier institutions will have no takers as the return on investment would be vast. Ivy league seems a better option now. Time to get crackin, i mean BELLING.

Adieu folks!

England Bow Out

Well, as an ardent England supporter, I am bitterly upset that Eng are knocked out. The Duckworth Lewis method didnt help them, it should have been a 20 over affair then a more lively contest would be on the cards. Anyway, in a way its good that Eng were knocked out as it will give them time to prepare for the Ashes, which is the biggest cricket series in my opinion, slam bang cricket is just for entertainment, but the true test of character is pure test cricket played with passion. I believe Eng has a great chance to win the Ashes, their bowling attack has lots of firepower with Anderson, Broad and Sidebottom, add to that Monty Panesar and a powerful batting line up. Come on England!

Spain were extremely impressive against the All Whites, a Fernando Torres hat trick within 17 mins was simply sublime. Italy and Brazil seem like worthy challengers but Spain looks like the team to beat.

On a personal note, the plans of higher education, the roadmap in particular hasnt been chalked out yet. Preparation for the entrance exams has not yet picked up steam, no momentum what so ever. Forget momentum and steam, I still haven't boarded the train yet. Time to get crackin'. Just one question, When? I believe its now or never.

or else, in the words of Chris Jericho, I may never...e e eeee eeevvvvvarrrrr..be the same again..

Its Time to Play the Game..Common!

Galacticos

Real Madrid are on the move, big time!

Kaka n Ronaldo will add flair to the squad, have been snapped up for whopping transfer fees. Madrid look to add David Villa also to the squad. Ominous signs for the rest of the clubs in Europe. I believe the Spanish league may now be the best league in the world.

Congrats to roger federer n well done robin soderling, wimbledon will be won by Fed Ex acc to me.

I have been hugely impressed by Sachin Pilot of late, which makes his former b school IMT Ghaziabad an attractive destination for me, gotta begin prep though.

The Confederations Cup is around the corner, Spain Italy and Brazil have a lot of pedigree in their squads, Del Bosque's men should go all the way.

Eng must buck up in the t20 championship, aus already knocked out, windies and lanka are potential dark horses.

Thats it for now, adieu folks!

let the games begin

The T20 world cup is about to commence..People tipping India to be the overwhelming favourites, lets see how the competition pans out.

One thing that caught my attention during the ipl was the emergence of the fake ipl blogger who's brilliantly hilarious posts has sort of taken blogging to the next level. I must admit I am one of his biggest fans as his command of the language is exceptional, good thing he is back to posting as the T20 world championships start, man i wish I could have the ability to skip an IIM interview to watch a cricket match.

On the red clay in Paris, it looks like Roger Federer and Dinara Safina would be crowned the champions.

The Curious Case of JENSON BUTTON seems to go on and on and the Brawn team looks unstoppable at the minute. Mclaren and Renault have looked off the pace big time and Red Bull has made a very impressive start to the season, I am extremely impressed with the driving prowess of Sebastien Vettel, a big team beckons. I hope the Scarlet cars get their act together in Istanbul at least.

Kaka and C. Ronaldo are being chased by Real Madrid. I hope they do join Madrid, and Pelligrini is an astute manager. By the way Barcelona absolutely murdered ManUtd in Rome. Full marks to Xavi, Iniesta and of course Messi. He really Messi(ed) up things for the red devils.

Thats all folks!

Another one BITES the dust

The French Open this year is throwin' up a lot of surprises. First the Joker crashed out, then the undisputed king of clay Rafael Nadal. Then another Serb Jelena Jankovic joined a host of big names already eliminated at the red clay in Paris.

Roger federer managed to ward off a very resilient Tommy Hass, who is extremely under rated but a brilliant player. Most people fail to recognise that he was a world number one when the likes of Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, PAt RAfter were in the twilight of their respective careers.

Chelsea have yet another boss at the helm, Carlo Ancelotti of Milan. CArlo may look to bring in the mercurial talent of Kaka and Andrea Pirlo to the bridge.

The T20 world cup is just around the corner. Many of my friends are tipping India to go all the way, but I am sorry to say I disagree. I feel India have too many spinning options and spinners dont normally extract purchase from the wickets in the Old Blighty. Being an avid follower of the game, my gut tells me that it is going to be an Australia England final, which will be an ideal prelude to the Ashes series in my opinion. James Anderson is my current pick for bowler of the tournament and David Hussey my batsman of the tournament. Watch out for Sri Lanka as a potential dark horse for the title.

On a personal note, I am saddened by Middlesbrough FC being relegated. However, they have illustrious company in Coca Cola Championship in the form of cash rich(now threatened) Newcastle United. Being a Boro' loyalist, i expect them to gain promotion immediately(brilliant youth system) and for the next season my allegiancies are tied to West Ham United. Come on you Hammers!

BTW, I have heard a lot about Angels and Demons..Plan to watch it soon.

Tada!

Back from the Dead

Well, after a long hiatus, I am back to blogging. However, I have been pretty active on the business quiz blog(chandukedochacha.blogspot.com).

Well, what makes me blog again? A certain Fake IPL player has become my inspiration of late. Had been followin his brilliant blog all the way right through the IPL.

Dreams of walking the hallowed portals of the IIM's have to be put on hold for some time now due to a very dismal showing in the entrance exams. Hopefully 2010-12 will be the period when I can complete my post graduation in a premier institution.

RCB made the finals and as stated a year earlier, it was RCB v DC in the final. Perhaps Nostradamus should take note of my uncanny sense of predictions. Been hugely impressed with the young gun politicians especially Rahul Gandhi, Sachin Pilot and Jyotiraditya Scindia. Shashi Tharoor has also come to the fore with stellar campaining.

Well, my tenure at Christ College has come to an end. Initially, I wanted to quit as fast as I could, but regrets have started to creep in. Will miss the life and times at Christ but will cherish the memories there forever.

What is in store for me for the immediate future? Well, temporarily I have chosen to take up a job at Tesco, of the best retail chains in the world so lets see how it goes.

Will continue writing this blog, a view to express some of my ideas(full of shit).

A small message to my graduationg friends..Cheers to life..all the best for the future..I hope to see them embark ACROSS THE UNIVERSE..

adieu!
